The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (CVMVCD) is a special district whose mission is to reduce the risk of disease transmission, by mosquitoes and other vectors, for residents and visitors of the Coachella Valley.
The District operates its powers under California Health and Safety Code 2000-2093. Its boundaries encompass 2400 square miles which include the cities of Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Riverside County.
The District has 4 departments, 58 full time employees and 5-10 seasonals (April - November) that get hired.
