We work so no one is isolated because of Parkinson's disease. We provide emotional and educational support to people with Parkinson's, their caregiver and families, and professionals working in the Parkinson's arena
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I founded the Organization because my mother (diagnosed in 1984) and my husband (diagnosed in 1989) both had Parkinson's. Before starting this non-profit charity I owned a for-profit business for 13 years.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are no other Parkinson's organizations focusing solely on emotional and educational support. We pioneered our mission. Other organizations are research or medical models.

We have one "Headquarters" office in Palm Desert; however, we hold ten support groups throughout Southern California and our website www.parkinsonsresource.org has a local, regional, state, national and global outreach and is growing exponentially.
