How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After viewing an episode of Cell Dogs on Animal Planet, which featured a group of dogs that were being trained at a prison Donna contacted a local Non-Profit organization in California specializing in Service Dogs for the disabled, Donna began volunteering and subsequently working for the Non-ProfitS Prison Dog Program.
In 2004 Donna became a Certified Service Dog Trainer, having trained and placed 87 service dogs with disabled clients. In addition, she has worked for PAL Humane Society as their Training Director and is now serving as the President of their Board of Directors. Donnas work with the Prison dog program has included managing 5 prison dog programs, the newest one at the California Institution for Women in Chino; training rescued shelter dogs for children with Autism.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Through my experience training at the prison dog programs and my dog training business, I have extensive experience training humans to train dogs. This is key as dog trainers for the most part are teaching dog owners to train their dogs. I also have a proven track record training dogs for pets, service and therapy.
